     Dr. Vinod Shah - Founder Chairman
   Ex.US FDA, Pharmaceutical Consultant, USA
Dr. Shah is an ex- US FDA (Food and Drug Administration) Senior Research Scientist . He has developed several Regulatory Guidances for Pharmaceutical Industry in the area of biopharmaceutics. He has received several FDA Awards for Leadership Excellence, Team Excellence, Excellence in Communication, FDA Award of Merit, FDA Scientific Achievement Award and FDA Distinguished Career Service Award. Dr. Shah is author/co-author of over 240 scientific papers and is a co-editor of three books.

Dr. Shah was the President of American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) in 2003 and is a recipient of AAPS Distinguished Service Award. He is also a recipient of Pharmaceutical Sciences World Congress (PSWC) Research Achievement Award in 2010. He is a Fellow of AAPS and FIP


     Dr. Umesh Banakar - Founder President

Dr.Umesh V. Banakar, Ph.D. is Professor of Pharmaceutics and an Independent Consultant/Advisor to Pharmaceutical Industry and Academia worldwide with extensive contribution in drug product development and evaluation (in vitro and clinical). 

He is on the International Scientific Advisory Board of several pharmaceutical corporations worldwide. Of date, he has successfully completed several Pharmaceutical Product Development Technology Transfer through education assignments sponsored by the UN/IESC and other pharmaceutical corporations worldwide. Additionally, he has served as testifying/non-testifying expert in patent litigations in the disciplines of pharmaceutical formulations/technology, clinical investigations and dissolution testing. Furthermore, he has planned and executed the development, both in vitro and clinical, of several NDAs and ANDAs (both IR and MR products). He has authored over 100 publications, over 100 published abstracts and presentations, numerous specialized workshop manuals, several chapters and monographs, over 45 expert book reviews and 5 guest editorials. The texts that he has authored include: Pharmaceutical Dissolution Testing, Drug Development Process: Increasing efficiency and cost effectiveness, among others. He is the co-author of an electronic text: Basic Pharmacokinetics.


      Dr. L. Ramaswamy - Secretary General

Dr.L.Ramaswamy
has been working with Indian Pharmaceutical Industry in various positions since 1978. During the tenure he had the opportunity to represent his organization in many platforms and one of which was representing the India Delegation to Canada organized by Government of India during 2007. Currently he works as the Managing Director of Sotax India Pvt Ltd, a fully owned Subsidiary of Sotax AG, Switzerland.

      Prof. Dr. Diane J. Burgess - Scientific Chair
  Professor of Pharmaceutics University of Connecticut USA.


Dr. Burgess is Board of Trustees Distinguished Professor of Pharmaceutics, at the University of Connecticut. She has over 160 publications, over 420 research presentations at major scientific meetings, over 210 invited lectures, and has presented 15 keynote addresses. Her research efforts focus on gene and drug delivery: microspheres, emulsions, liposomes, hydrogels, as well as interfacial chemistry and implantable biosensors for glucose monitoring. Dr. Burgess was the 2010 President of the Controlled Release Society (CRS), the 2002 President of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) and is an AAPS, CRS and an American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIBE) fellow. She is also an international fellow of the Association of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology Japan (APSTJ). Dr. Burgess is editor of the International Journal of Pharmaceutics and serves on the editorial boards of nine international journals

 




     Dr. Jean Michel Cardot
   Professor & Head - Dept of Biopharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology, Universite d’Auvergne, France.

J-M. Cardot
has a Pharm D. and a Ph. D. from Clermont-Ferrand University and Masters from Clermont-Ferrand (Biopharmaceutical) Paris (Statitics) and Marseilles (Pharmacokinetics) Universities. Presently, he is professor and head of the Department of Biopharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology from the Universite d’Auvergne, France.Professor Cardot’s main research fields include biopharmaceutical aspects of drug development, in vitro-in vivo correlations and in vitro dissolution tests. He was previously for 15 years in pharmaceutical companies in development departments. During this period Professor Cardot was also Associate Professor at the University of Clermont-Ferrand, in the area of Biopharmaceuticals.

     Mr. Samir Haddouchi
   Managing Director, SPS Pharma services, France.

Samir Haddouchi
has spent more than 10 years in pharmaceutical industry. As a chemist, he started working on analytical development of agrochemical compounds at Sandoz Agro in Basel (Switzerland). During the Novartis merger, he moved to Orleans (France) in 1998 to join the Analytical Group in the technical development department where he became responsible for dissolution. Since he joined SPS Pharma Services in 2005, Samir manages SPS facility in Clermont Ferrand (France) and is in charge of Projects Management.

     Mr. Vijay Kshirsagar
   Director and CEO,TRAC Consulting,Mumbai,India.

Mr. Vijay Kshirsagar is currently the  Director and CEO,TRAC Consulting,Mumbai,India. Prior to this he was Executive Vice President-CQA & Regulatory of Unichem Laboratories Ltd, Mumbai. Vijay has a vast experience of facing numerous regulatory audits including US FDA. MHRA, ANVISA, WHO etc. He has been a frequent trainer in several national & international forums. He is on the board of Directors of ISPE, India Affiliate and also the President of Society for Pharmaceutical Dissolution Science.


     Vatsala Naageshwaran
   Asso. Director, Scientific Operations, Absorption Systems, USA.


Vatsala Naageshwaran has worked for several biotechnology / pharmaceutical companies as a research scientist with experience in drug discovery, assay validation, and product development.

Currently as Associate Director, Scientific Operations for Absorption Systems, Vatsala collaboratively drives research and expansion of CellPort, Absorption Systems' exclusive drug transporter technology. Vatsala has made presentations and performed workshops on drug transporters at various conferences. Prior to joining Absorption Systems, Vatsala made significant contributions at Supergen in the development of drug candidate Amuvatinib (MP-470). Her research has been featured at national conferences such as AACR and EORTC and she has authored publications submitted to peer-reviewed journals. Prior to this Vatsala worked at Myriad Genetics focusing on BRAC clinical data analysis for hereditary breast and ovarian cancer.


     Dr. Kailas Thakker

Dr. Kailas Thakker
is a Pharmacy graduate from Department of Technology Mumbai ,Masters degree in Pharmacy from Columbia University in New York and Doctor of Philosophy from University of Kansas She worked at United States Pharmacopeia for over 12 years and then went on to head Analytical departments at small venture backed virtual pharmaceutical companies. About 19 years ago, Kailas founded Analytical Solutions with a vision to provide quality analytical services to the pharmaceutical industry. Working with regulatory, compendia and industry leaders, she started working towards developing and improving in vitro release test using Franz diffusion cells. About 18 months ago, Analytical Solutions expanded the service base to offer product development services. With the change of the service platform, came the change of name, Tergus Pharma. Today, Tergus Pharma offers comprehensive product development service to pharmaceutical industry with emphasis on topical products from concept commercialization.


     Dr. Mrs. M. Nagarsenker
   Professor & HOD, Dept. of Pharmaceutics, Bombay College of Pharmacy, Mumbai.

Dr. (Mrs.) Mangal Nagarsenker is Professor and Head, Department of Pharmaceutics, Bombay College of Pharmacy, Mumbai, India. Prof. Nagarsenker has more than 25 years of research experience in the field of novel drug delivery systems. She has successfully guided 35 M.Pharm and 20 Ph.D students. She has several publications in the field of novel drug delivery and nanotechnology . Her research work is supported by various funding agencies of Government of India and also by pharmaceutical Industry. 

Prof. Nagarsenker’s research interests are 1) polymeric and lipid nanocarriers for improved drug delivery, 2) Drug nanocrystals for improved oral and topical delivery, 3) pulmonary drug delivery and 4) synthesis of novel ligands for targeted drug delivery.

      Dr.(Mrs.) Padma V. Devarajan
     Professor & HOD, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology, Institute of Chemical Technology,     Mumbai


Dr (Ms) Padma V. Devarajan has over twenty five years of experience in teaching and research, she has supervised over 75 students for the Masters and PhD degree. Her research interests include Nanocarriers for targeted delivery in cancer and infectious diseases, Bioenhancement strategies, and Mucosal DDS as alternative to parenteral administration. She has over 100 presentations and publications in national/international conferences/cited journals and five book chapters in the area of drug delivery. She is currently editor for a book on “Targetted Drug Delivery” to be published by Springer. She has filed over twenty patents international/ national and has eight patents granted (one European and seven Indian) and four patents licensed.

      Sompol Prakongpan


Sompol Prakongpan, Professor Emeritus of Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Burapha University, Thailand received B.Sc. in Pharmacy from University of Medical Sciences (now Mahidol University), Thailand in 1968 and got M.S. (Biochemistry) from Mahidol University in 1970, MSP and Ph.D. from The University of Michigan in the year 1973 and 1974. He had been working at Mahidol University since graduation until retirement in 2011.In 1996 he became Professor in Pharmacy and later was appointed as Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy (2001-2004). He served as executive committee members in many national and international organizations including president of the Pharmaceutical Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage (1994-1998), vice president of the Pharmacy Council (1997-2006), vice president of Federation of Asian Pharmaceutical Associations (FAPA), President Elect of Asian Federation for Pharmaceutical Sciences (AFPS). He is a recipient of FAPA Award in Scientific Research (1994), Outstanding Pharmacist Award in Education and Research (2009), and Outstanding Alumni of Graduate School, Mahidol University (2006) and Associate Fellow of The Royal Institute of Thailand (2011).
