An Overview
To fulfill its mission, SPDS has been hosting annual conferences focused on dissolution science under the banner DISSO India. In 2020, for the first time, the event was conducted online due to the pandemic, featuring plenary lectures delivered by global experts. The remarkable success of DISSO India 2020 paved the way for DISSO America 2020 Online, organized by the SPDS US chapter in collaboration with the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS).
Since research presentations could not be accommodated within DISSO India, SPDS launched a dedicated program titled Dissolution Research Presentations India 2020 – Online (DRPI 2020 – Online). This premier nationwide competition provided young researchers from both academia and industry with a platform to present innovative work in dissolution science, technology, and applications. Notably, it was the first indigenous online research competition for the pharmaceutical community, strengthened by SPDS’s partnership with the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI). The contest was conducted across India’s five zones—North, East, West, South, and Central—and distinguished itself through a fair, fully anonymous evaluation process. Building on this success, DRPI continued online in 2021 and 2022, with SPDS collaborating again with APTI and AAPS to replicate the achievement.
Today, DRPI has evolved into Dissolution Research Presentations International. Since 2023, the competition has expanded globally.
The Competition
DRPI is a Global Dissolution Research Presentations Competition for Young (Early stage) Pharmaceutical Researchers.
